REGISTRATION KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
All families wishing to register their child must do so at the District Office located at 3300 Gillett Drive. Families can contact our registrar at 218-333-3100 (ext. 131) for information.  Please have a current immunization record, social security number and birth certificate for each student.  Minnesota law dictates that a student may not begin school without the immunization record. If you are interested in preparing for the registration process before you arrive, please download the following registration form, fill it out, and bring it to the District Office.

Kindergarten registration for the Bemidji Area Schools will take place in your neighborhood school. All registration times will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you have any questions regarding registration, please call 333-3100, extension 131, or your neighborhood school.

Items needed for registration include:

  • Immunization Record
  • Birth Certificate

If your child has not had his/her Preschool Screening, please call
333-8329, to arrange for an appointment. (This does not have to be completed prior to registration but as soon as possible.)

OPEN ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

School Board Regulation 700-10-1 specifies that Bemidji School District will follow Minnesota Statute 124D.03, Enrollment Options Program as defined.

The following policy applies for the 2004-2005 school year and beyond.

  1. Nonresident parents or guardians must submit an application for a student to attend the Bemidji School District by the close of the business day on January 15 (postmarked on this or an earlier date).
  2. Bemidji School District officials will notify the parents or guardians, in writing, whether the application has been accepted by February 15 (postmarked on this or an earlier date).
  3. Parents or guardians of the student will notify the Bemidji School District of the student's intent to attend for the next school year by the close of the business day on March 1 (postmarked on this or an earlier date).
  4. Bemidji School District officials shall notify the student's resident district by the end of the school day on March 15 of the student's intent to enroll in Independent School District No. 31, Bemidji (postmarked on this or an earlier date).
