All students in K-5 at JW Smith Elementary school have gotten off to a fantastic start in Mr. Alberti’s art room.  Each of the 16 classes have discussed and picked an inventor of their choosing that they will turn into a large portrait.  Students just wrapped up drawing and outlining their chosen inventors and will soon begin painting each.

Some of these innovators include Thomas Edison (Light Bulb), Larry Stevenson (Skateboard), Marie Van Brittan Brown (Home Security System) and Ruth Wakefield (Chocolate Chip Cookie).  Make sure to check back at the end of October to see the finished creations that will be hung in the halls of J.W. Smith.  In the meantime check out a few of the pictures of students getting started on their drawings.
