Norwegian students in an exchange program through Bemidji State University spent time getting to know students at the Bemidji Middle School.  They have been giving presentations about Norway to various classes. In Mrs. Freeman’s classes her students wanted to know about Norwegian food and the Norwegian students wanted to experience local favorites.  Norwegian foods included Krumkake, Norwegian Waffles with Brunost, Lefse, and Fastelavnsboller. Minnesota treats were venison sticks, walleye cakes, tater tot hotdish traditional Ojibwe corn soup, pumpkin bars and maple syrup with vanilla ice cream.
