OBJECTIVE
My professional goal is to continue to grow professionally as a member of the Bemidji Area School’s Administration Team. I am currently the principal at Horace May Elementary and the Early Intervention Program. Our district goals include preparing our schools for the highest academic achievement possible as well as a warm and welcoming environment for learning.

EXPERIENCE
ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL MAY 2012 – PRESENT
As the Principal at Horace May Elementary I have a variety of responsibilities. Several of my daily tasks include welcoming staff and students at the front door, monitoring their attendance, core academics, test scores, etc. I am also responsible for hiring and evaluating teaching and paraprofessional staff. I work very closely with our special education teaching team and attend multiple I.E.P. meetings, participate in Child Study Teams, etc. We have three District-Wide Special Education Programs at Horace May. Two Programs involve EBD students and one program involves DCD students. The Early Intervention Program has an average enrollment of 190 students (ages birth through five); and Horace May Elementary has an average enrollment of 475 students (grades kindergarten through fifth).

DEAN OF STUDENTS & ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR JANUARY 2010 — MAY 2012
As the Dean of Students and Activities Director at the Bemidji Middle School I have a variety of responsibilities. Several of my daily tasks include the discipline of students, attendance at I.E.P. Meetings, organizing interscholastic activities, hiring and managing coaches, advisors and umpires, organizing transportation for activities, etc.

SIXTH-EIGHTH GRADE SCIENCE TEACHER AUGUST 1993 — JANUARY 2010
The core curriculum areas that I taught at the Bemidji Middle School included Physics, Chemistry, Scientific Method, Metrics, Light and Sound, Engineering, Anatomy, Space Sciences, Oceanography, Minerals, Earth Sciences and the Environment. I coached an average of three sports a year while teaching. These sports included football, girls’ & boys’ basketball, girls’ and boys’ tennis and track.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER (SCI. & SOCIAL ST.) AUGUST 1992 — JUNE 1993
The core curriculum subjects I taught in Kasson-Mantorvile Middle School included Earth and Space Sciences, Life Sciences, Eighth Grade Social Studies and General Music. I coached middle school girls basketball and varsity track while in Kasson.

EDUCATION
EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP: K-12 PRINCIPAL LICENSURE AUGUST 2011
I completed my course and Minnesota Competency work through the Tr-College University located in Fargo, ND. This organization is a combination of three university systems; Minnesota State University Moorhead, North Dakota State University and Concordia College, Moorhead. Dr. Boyd Bradbury, Professor at MSUM, was my advisor. (GPA = 4.0)

MASTERS DEGREE: SPECIAL EDUCATION MAY 2005
Master’s Degree in Specific Learning Disabilities was completed through the Bernidji State University Education Program. Dr. Judy Olson was my advisor. (GPA = 3.89)

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE: ELEMENTARY EDUCATION MAY 1992
Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education and Middle School Broad Science and Social Studies was completed at Bemidji State University. Also completed my Coaching Licensure and played Women’s Tennis for three seasons. (GPA 3.59)

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA MAY 1988
I graduated from Bemidji High School. While there I played three sports a year and graduated within the top eleven percent of my class_ I was the Student Council Vice-President my junior and senior years. (GPA = 3.85)
