Three Bemidji Middle School 8th grade girls have been honored with Scholastic Art Awards.

The student who took this photo of the lake  was honored with a Silver Key Award.That same student was also awarded an honorable mention for this mixed media piece named, “Alone.”

Another student was awarded an honorable mention for her sculpture, “Sunset in the City.” 

She was also awarded an honorable mention for her sculpture, “Whispers from Below.”

Another student was awarded an honorable mention for her painting, “Summer to Fall.”

 

The Scholastic Awards in Minnesota had 3,746 entries this year. There were 309 Gold Keys awarded, 384 Silver Keys awarded, and 699 Honorable Mentions.

Judges are not told who made the art, or what school the art came from. Being selected for these awards is a huge honor.
