Just before the end of the day on Friday, February 8th we recognized all students who have read 500,000 words or more.  Superintendent Lutz showed them some of the books he was currently reading and talked about how these books were helping him be a better superintendent and someone who could fix his own 4-wheeler.  He told the students that reading is very powerful and he inspired them to read anything and everything and form their own opinions and ideas. The students were treated to doughnuts and there were random drawings for prizes. The top two readers from each pod were recognized and each one got their choice of a book from the Book Fair.

BMS students have read 303,125,325 words! (yes, that’s three MILLION words!)  The goal for our media center this year is to have students check out 26,000 books, we currently have had 15,583 books checked out, so we are well over half way to our goal! Thank you Mr. Pfleger and Mrs. Berg for helping students find good books and making our Library inviting and current! KEEP ON READING!
