STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all BMS student athletes grades 7-8. Student must be an active participant in any extra curricular activity that competes at Bemidji Middle School. Student must be in academic good standing (C average or better). Student should be a good role model both on and off the field of play.
WHO CAN NOMINATE: All BMS coaches in their season of play
HOW ARE STUDENT’S NOMINATED: Nominations are made by coach recommendations to the Dean of Students/Activities Director and must be received by the last day of the month for which the student is being nominated. Nominations from one month are not carried forward to the next month, but there is no limit to the number of times non-winning students may be re-nominated. Nominations include:

Grade level
Why you feel this student is qualified to be the student athlete of the month
SELECTION PROCESS: All certified staff and coaches are e-mailed the list of nominees at the end of the month. Votes must be returned to the Dean of Student/Activities Director no later than 3:30 on the 4th of each month. One boy and one girl will be selected based upon the nominees’ excellence in athletics, citizenship, accomplishments, and current GPA. Winners will be notified via their activities director and will receive a certificate and their picture on the school website as well as by the gym.
