Bemidji Independent School District 31 is in need of bus drivers!  We have been able to operate regular routes and some activity trips by using office staff, mechanics, and supervisors of Transportation services as emergency drivers. Even with all these added personnel, we remain desperately short of drivers each day.  Without additional trained drivers, we may be forced to implement reductions in transportation services that could result in the following:

  • Field trips or activities/athletics trips being canceled.
  • Regular routes could be combined, making longer rides for students.
  • Regular routes could be delayed or canceled.

Please help spread the word!

Hours vary widely due to the variety of route lengths. Morning hours range from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Afternoon hours range from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

If selected, applicants will be entered into a training program that includes behind-the-wheel training and classroom instruction. Bus driver trainees will be paid $14.79/hour for up to 30 hours of driver training. After completion of training, applicants are entered into a paid mentoring program.

Starting wage for drivers is $18.95 per hour (for drivers who drive both am and pm routes).
