The Bemidji School Board is contemplating utilizing board authority to extend our existing referendum of $180 per student for an additional ten years. This would not result in increased taxation and would simply maintain the operating referendum for ten additional years. As part of this decision making process, the School Board would like to invite you to attend any one of three public meetings in which we would explain what is being contemplated and give you a chance to give input on this decision. We are attempting to hold meetings in multiple areas of our district, different dates, and at convenient times to allow for public participation in this process. Public meetings schedule:

December 12, 2023- Northern Elementary School Cafeteria, 6:30pm

January 16, 2024-Horace May Elementary School Gym, 6:30pm

January 18, 2024-Bemidji High School Lumberjack Room, 5:30pm

Extending this referendum is necessary, maintains current funding without raising taxes, preserves programs and services offered by our district, and is fiscally responsible. The School Board does not take this decision lightly and welcomes your attendance at these meetings
