Violinist, singer and songwriter Gaelynn Lea visited the 4th and 5th graders on November 17th, 2016. Lea is from Duluth, MN and is on an NPR national tour for winning the 2016 Tiny Desk contest. Lea was chosen as the winner from over 6,000 applicants from across the US. Lea is living with a condition called Osteogenisis Imperfecta, also known as Brittle Bones Disease. During her presentation, Lea talked about her life and journey as a musician. She involved the students in singing and dancing along with educating the students about her music. She also demonstrated that no matter what your abilities are or obstacles that come your way, as long as you work hard you can do anything! Lea is truly inspiring and an amazing musician.
