Welcome to the Lincoln Garden! The summer of 2021 was the first year that Jeana Johnson managed the garden with the help of our Lincoln students.

The garden also saw some improvements this year with the addition of four new raised garden beds and our beautiful trellises! That gives us a total of 11 raised beds and 3 trellises. That is a lot of growing space and we put it all to good use.

Throughout the summer the Lincoln Garden Club would meet and take care of the garden. We would pull weeds and water. Planted seeds and picked zucchini, lots of zucchini!

We had all the usual goodies and a few surprises too. The kids got to try fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, zucchini and peppers, and some new things like fresh dill and ground cherries and even some edible weeds!

The produce we picked over the summer went home with our Lincoln Gardeners. As summer came to a close the garden bounty was shared with all Lincoln students in our school lunches. We started with cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, lettuce, and ground cherries. With the arrival of Fall we have carrots, watermelon radishes, Hopi Beans, and potatoes on the menu at school too.
